Ceramic Implants, Reclaiming your culinary lifestyle
Do soft foods like fruit and vegetable purees, yogurt, and soup make up a large part of your diet as you find eating uncomfortable, or hard to chew? Have you tried to enjoy a beautiful meal with your friends only to find it isn’t exactly as fun or comfortable as you are eating with a missing tooth or teeth?
Dining out or sharing a meal is enjoyable, social, indulgent, and can be transformational. You may be surprised to learn, that you can have that freedom and enjoyment back. Ceramic dental implants may be a solution to reclaiming your culinary lifestyle.
Just as when the best chefs are preparing an amazing meal, it starts both with the best ingredients and a good recipe. Surgical and implant dentistry are the same, in that we take the premium product, mix it with the latest digital technology and combine it with our proven track record of providing the best possible care to our patients.
There are typically two types of dental implants, the more traditional titanium, or a ceramic dental implant which is a premium option. The way we think about these two options is one is your everyday meal, roast chicken, and vegetables, whereas the ceramic dental implant is your romantic date night restaurant.
The advantage of the ceramic dental implant is that they are metal free, white, with the addition that they are beautiful. Traditional titanium dental implants can cast a shadow between your gum and the crown, but with ceramic being a colour similar to your natural teeth, these greyish shadows disappear.
There are two downsides to ceramic implants, firstly they are not ideal for patients that suffer from bruxism or teeth grinding. Secondly, they are more expensive than the traditional titanium.
Our modern lifestyles are demanding on our time. Everyone is different but within 3-4 months you will be back to enjoying your favourite foods or those romantic dinners with your partner. No more being uncomfortable when dining out or with or sharing a meal with family or friends.

Not all patients are suitable for dental implants, please discuss your case with our team. Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
